Email retention

One of the key reasons we moved to Infusionsoft was its claimed ability to retain emails by contact.

We use GMail and have recently found Infusionsoft is NOT maintaining a record of our emails. This is very frustrating but we just cannot get any support from Infusionsoft and there has been no return to our queries.

HELP.

The emails sent from Infusionsoft should show in your email history for each contact. If, however, you are under the impression that infusionsoft somehow is aware of and stores email responses from the emails youā€™ve sent, then that would be incorrect. Iā€™ve never seen any claim to that affect. Orā€¦do I mis-understand your question?

@Simon_Read, you may be thinking about the Infusionsoft Sync for Gmail. Itā€™s something you can install and configure for free. Hereā€™s the info:Email Sync | Max Classic

Hi John,

When we first started using Infusionsoft it did indeed retain copies of the
emails we were sending through Gmail. We were not sending them through
Infusionsoft.

On review, it may well be the case Infusionsoft only retained details of
the email we sent, including the email string associated with our outbound
email.

It no longer does this. So the point is we have lost something which
Infusionsoft was providing.

I also understand there is an Infusionsoft Sync for Gmail. Would this be
helpful?

Cheers.

If it involves the PPSA, involve me.

Hi @Simon_Read,

How long ago did you start with Infusionsoft? Iā€™m just asking because Iā€™ve only been an API developer using IS for about four years and Iā€™ve not seen a case where IS knew of any email activity outside of what IS sent itself.

Morning John,

Weā€™ve only just started in the past couple of months. See attached screen
shot. Infusionsoft ā€˜capturedā€™ these emails by reference to the customerā€™s
email address and allocated them to the appropriate Infusionsoft Contact.

They were not sent through Infusionsoft.

Cheers.

Hi @Simon_Read,

Is Dianne a user in Infusionsoft or just a contact (non user). Iā€™m asking because users do have a setting to link POP/IMAPI accounts. For contacts, that option isnā€™t available but if itā€™s a user that might be something to followup on.

Hi John,

Diane is only a contact, not a user of Infusionsoft, Lisa and Janet are
employees and users of Infusionsoft.

Cheers.

Hi @Simon_Read,

So Iā€™m wondering if the user association isnā€™t the common factor to that working as youā€™ve described. Have Lisa and Janet been setup on their user records to use the POP/IMAPI settings? Has the user records had to be changed in the past (I donā€™t know of course, just listing possible paths for it happening as youā€™ve described).

Hi Simon
How did you go with the Sync plugin?
Iā€™m in Australia and happy to get on a call with you to understand your issues.

Thanks John,

Iā€™ve passed your suggestion to out IT crew.

Cheers .
