Creating unique Membership numbers for my contacts

Hi,
Does anyone know of a way that I can populate a contacts custom field with a unique membership number based on their purchase?

You may need a tool from someone like PlusThis that can increment values and populate custom fields with an http post. Don’t think anything natively in IS would do that.

Agree with John if you need a specific numbering sequence, but if you are just looking to use a unique number for the contact, for some of our clients we just use the Contact ID as the unique number.

NovakSolutions has a “Policy Numbers” tool that would work for this as well.
