Managing a Wordpress Membership Site with Infusion 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello,

Anyone using Infusion to register/track/bill members of a Wordpress membership site? Are there any examples for how to do this?

Thanks for the help,

Steve Gordon

Steve,

I'm not aware of anyone who uses Wordpress with Infusionsoft; however, at a high level this is what would need to be done:

* Publish posts as "Private" level, so it won't be publicly accessible unless users login to view that content.
* Create a plugin that hooks into the login sequence so it makes an API call to check infusionsoft for users who have access. (Even better, cache it locally hourly, for performance.)
* Make the use of a custom field to specify the access to your Wordpress site or not. (And hook a success action sequence to setting the value of that field to true or whichever you need.)

Consider trying to tweak and experiment. I suggest setting up a staging blog area just for experimentation, then once you got everything right, port it over to your production blog.

Here are some related plugins that may help you --
* Angsuman’s Authenticated WordPress Plugin
* Members Only Wordpress Plugin
* wpAmember (AMember) Wordpress Plugin
* HTTP Authentication Wordpress Plugin
* External DB authentication Wordpress Plugin

Hope this helps get you to off the ground and going. I'll also offer that there are a lot of Wordpress Hackers out there that can really work some magic on a seamless, secure and powerful login for you.

~Joe

I am pleased to announce the launch of http://infusion4wp.com which solves this issue.

You can create as many member levels as you like with TAGS and then assign those tags to posts and pages in Wordpress.

Tags can be controlled by subscriptions or product purchases.

Happy to help if you need more details.

Releasing 1.5.0 tomorrow or the next day.

It now includes the ability to manage your flat Infusionsoft tags/groups as a hierarchy (i.e. Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, whereas Gold members can see everything, Silver can see everything except Gold and Bronze sees only Bronze).

Look for it...

Re:Managing a Wordpress Membership Site with Infusion 4 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Greetings,

Infusion4WP looks like an good solution.

I'm wondering whether anyone has tried it and is able to say how they got on? How well does this work? Can they recommend it?

Also, a question for BobKeen. We are wanting a solution that has tags for "group only" level content as well as the hierarchy of higher level groups seeing content of groups below.

The rationale is showing upsell messages and offers only to the target group. We don't want the higher levels seeing lower level upsells and special offers.
Can your plugin do this?

And another question, is it possible to do incremental roll out of content in WP also using your plugin?

Many thanks for you time.

Regards,
Don

Yes, I've used and I highly recommend it.

I'm sure it wasn't my recommendation you were after, so if you want specific recommendations from users, please PM me with your email address and I will ask them to contact you.

Normally, the "group only" and "hierarchy" tend to be mutually exclusive. In any case, none of the other plugins that have surfaced since I4W was released provide this functionality.

With I4W, however, you will find that you have all the necessary facilities to do both. I4W provides you a "conditional shortcode", unique in the world of Wordpress, with which you will be able to selectively aim, on-page, your content at any membership group, in addition to the page-level protection scheme.

Gradual content release was recently introduced. It gives you the ability to release your content based on a subscriber's longevity as a member. You can choose to use days or weeks as the basis for determining the release schdule.

In addition, you'll find a truckload of other features for general content management purposes.

For more infos, go to this page:
http://www.infusionwp.com/features/

If you have any more questions, I'll be glad to answer publicly or through PM, as well as skype (user: f4hb47). Don't hesitate....

I ought to close the loop and report back my experience building a membership site with infusion4wp.

I found it to be super easy to install - perhaps just a couple of extra steps over a standard WP plugin.

Config was very easy - a few configuration fields in the plugin and back in infusionsoft - and you're ready to rock with protected pages and posts.

Im yet to experience any bugs or usability issues - but i had a couple of questions and Bob's support has been excellent.

In terms of features - it covered everything on my requirements checklist for the project.

The only thing i felt was missing is that there are no member management features (such as member profile pages or cancel subscription buttons) that you get for example with Amember - so you have to build that yourself.

I guess in summary I would definitely recommend taking a look at this if you building a membership site - especially if you are familiar with Infusionsoft.

Cheers

Nathan

Nathan,

You're a gentleman and a scholar.

Thanks for the plug - pun intended.

Best,
Bob

[ADDED]
I want to add that infusionWP is PURPOSELY A READ-ONLY APPLICATION.

We don't want anyone reporting the same kind of security breaches about our plugin as Joe Manna recently posted about Amember (I'm bad, I know).

Hello All,

After posing the the question above and hearing Bob's spirited self-recommendation, I also took the plunge with InfusionWP.

I haven't regretted it.

There were some problems getting the plugin to work on my cloudhost server (multiple load balanced servers with a constantly changing IP address) but Bob responded very quickly and altered the encryption license to be IP agnostic and things started working.

I never encountered better support than from Bob. Bob is so helpful that I really miss him on the rare occasion that he doesn't respond instantly. Overall Bob and InfusionWP are excellent and I give a wholeheartedly recommendation.

Regards,
Don
