I am setting up my contact info to be similiar to what my business needs. Im running into problems with the 100 custom contact field limit.

The short question is: how do I resolve the 100 custom field limit and how can I get each custom field to be allocated to more that one spot.

The Problem: One of my tabs is labeled Negotiation and on that tab page should be 3 headers 1st mortgage, 2nd mortgage, 3rd mortgage. Below each header should be 28 custom fields under each header.

I am able to put the 28 fields under the first header but the problem is I need those "SAME" fields under the 2nd and 3rd headers.

Even if I try to put these fields under a separate tab Lender A, Lender B, Lender C you can only assign the custom field to one of them? What this means is i will use 84 custom fields with different names to do just one of the tab pages i need instead of 28 and they will all have different names.

On the assigns field section of the custom fields wizard, why can't the titles in the unused fields box stay in that box to be used again later instead of diappearing when you move it to the right into another tab?

Any ideas around this problem? I have several other tabs i will need to add. At this rate I would need 2000+ custom fields to accomplish what i need done?

Yes. A contact field can only be in one spot on a contact record. It's unique.

One solution: You might consider making use of "lead records" to execute what you want. You can have several lead records connected to each contact record. And each lead record can have 100 custom fields.

Have you thought about whether what you are planning to set up would be a lot of work to maintain, even if you could do it?
