Hi,

We are setting up our Infusionsoft and I would like feedback from others as to how to best set up your software so that you can track results from individual direct mail campaigns.

I am unsure where I should provide that detail - either in Leadsorce or perhaps at the "Won" stage or something else altogether. Right now we have "leadsource" directly feeding from our web form and have the selections very general - not specific to a particular mailer.

Any suggestions on what works for people out there would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Dani,

Leadsource is good because it can be used in certain ROI reports that take the lead cost into consideration.

I think the best thing to do is to use coupon codes on your mailers.

If you can do a coupon code on your mailer for the person to enter when they get to the page that's great. It let's you split test mailers,track mailers specifically or in groups & various other things.

We actually even made a personalized URL campaign integrated to Infusionsoft for someone that was nice too. You know like go to mysite.com/bobsmith so the page Bob lands on had his info pre-populated and it also had a nice custom message for Bob.

If you are looking for the ROI on each mailing, coupon codes would be most valuable. you could make the leadsource a part of the coupon code. Meaning make a rule that if coupon code = whatever, then set leadsource to this or that. So you could buy 1000 leads and split them into several mailing groups with unique coupons that all relate back to the single leadsource where you picked up the 1000 leads.

Hope that makes some sense. But yes leadsoure is a great place to store that for later use in reports.

If you can do coupon codes by promising something extra or a discount for entering their code, all the better.
