We are just trying to get started in many of the social networking sites. I don't have our links handy, but I will look for them and post them soon. This looks like it might be a good place to post a quick question. Does anyone know how you can (or if you can) post via email to the social networking sites like myspace, linked in, facebook. I have heard that you can but I was unable to find any information on how to do it on the sites. I know this is not an infusion related question, but I thought I might get lucky and someone might know the answer. Thanks Cindy http://www.knighttymes.com

Thanks Cindy http://www.knighttymes.comGood question, Cindy. At this time, I don't know of any social networks that accept incoming e-mail. Facebook recently allowed their users to send out e-mail from their Facebook account to third-parties, but only for the purpose of sending a quick memo out. However, in the scope of social media, if you have a blog, then you can e-mail your blog at a specially configured e-mail address and it would subsequently post it on the Web. It's not to widely popular only because many blog entries these days engage the writer into editing, proofing and editing again; which e-mail is not ideal for. I know Wordpress and Blogger support this, but I'm not too sure of the capabilities of other blogging platforms. ~Joe

Joe, Thanks for the reply. I have also found that most of the social networking sites don't appear to allow your to post via email. Oh, well. It was an idea I had to be able to send an email with my post and have it go out to multiple blogs at one (Quick, easy and automated ) But in another discussion i was having the other night I determined that it wouldn't work to do it that way through infusion anyway. (It would be great for you guys ) Since all of the infusion mail has the Powered by infusion words and an opt out link in them. If I set up a campaign to send emails (blog posts) out on a regular basis to all of the different blogging sites I have all of my posts would say powered by infusion and have opt out links in them While amusing in some respects, I don't think that would go over very well with the readers.... Anyway, like I said it was just a thought. Thank you again for your feedback. I will let everyone know if I come up with another solution for automating this process a bit.. Have a great evening, Cindy http://www.knighttymes.com

Personally, I wouldn't recommend using campaigns to e-mail to blogs mainly because it isn't targeted for the reader as well as the other reasons you've specified.
However, I think it's possible to send regular e-mail without the opt-out and the "powered by" notice for an occasional "blast" to blogs.
