Hi Kenneth
YOu can intergrate Joomla but its work.
With regards to this type of set up have a look at one of my clients sites at
www.saloncentral.comYou can see we have set up a CMS for the that covers, content, forums and business direcotries (the direcotries are about to go live in next few week). Normally the content only really needs to cover 10 - 20 pages.
The type of things the API allows you to do with forums can be seen at
http://saloncentral.com/forumregister.phpYou can get to that address
www.saloncentral.com off the main menu and then go to forums and then registar.
You will see on the form that you have to agree to the terms , put in enough info that is relevent, coutnry will be added when we turn on the Business Directories as we have one for each english speaking country. If the agreement is not made then the Submit button does not turn on.
Try it and you will see how this is then intergrated fully into infusion. In the backgroudn it checks to see if you are a need person or not and then puts you down a Double opt in route.
As you will now well understand running more than one database is a complete pain in the the backside. Using the API we have been able to intergrate forums, business directories, paypal and ebay and many other possiblities exist. And we make the Infusionsoft database the master database.
If you want to talk email me georgeslater@bigpond.com
Hope this helps
