Definitely sounds frustrating, Karim. Our software is designed to monitor the exact server response and execute the action on contacts when emailing them -- such as mailbox full, unknown, etc., and updating that record accordingly. After a hard-bounce, the email is effectively disabled (opt-out) as the ISP counts that as an attempt to send mail to a non-existent mailbox and could adversely affect IP reputation.
Personally, Yahoo closed my account after about 6 months of inactivity; likely affecting the ability for senders to email me. Maybe this is happening system wide for all Yahoo users? Just a suggestion to explore.
In any case, this definitely is a bit odd for a series of hard bounces to spike up. Good catch while you monitor your email status distribution across your list.
I'll elevate this up to the email compliance team who is primarily responsible for making sure mail gets to their destinations for Infusionsoft customers.
Thanks for taking the time to share this note on the community. Has anyone else seen issues with Yahoo and Hard Bounces recently?
