Integration with membership sites 1 Year, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
PAIN #1:

My biggest pain is that when someone joins my Butterfly Marketing membership site (or my vTribes or AMember or whatever sites), that transaction has to be manually entered into Infusion. Unless I'm missing something, as I'd be thrilled to be corrected!

And vice versa. I'd love for customers to be able to purchase from my Infusion shopping cart and immediately be made a member of the BFM site.

I opted for the Infusion API when I joined Infusion but I really don't have the time or expertise to use it yet, and I really don't know if it will even handle this.

Truth be told, I assumed from Scott's presentation at Rich Schefren's conference that Infusion did it all, including handling memberships and offering my users a Help Desk and a Forum.

That said, I'm extremely happy that Infusion does what it does.

PAIN #2:

I also assumed(!) that the implementation fee/phase would include importing my 8 years of 1ShoppingCart data. That probably could be done with a bit more money (and I am happy that I got the contact information imported) but again I assumed that I'd also get sales history and possibly even my products imported.

As it is, my second biggest pain is that I have to keep referring to 1ShoppingCart for all past sales information. I was hoping to be able to turn off 1ShoppingCart after moving to Infusion.

Hey bookup,

As far as pain #1, you can integrate membership sites with Infusion using the Infusion API. Usually to do this you need to have a programmer on your end the write the integration. Another option is to contact the membership site vendor directly and ask them if they have an Infusion integration (if I'm not mistaken there are a few that have built them and I think AMember is one of them).

You should also check out the following article (which is posted in another area of the Infusion User Community): http://www.engageselling.com/membersite/

If you're not locked in with another membership site it might be worth your while to check this option out.

As far as pain #2, you're right that the initial transition service we provide includes a "contact" data import only. However, Infusion CAN import the rest of your data for you (including past orders, products, and more). This runs at $199/hr and you can call the 866.800.0004 opt. 1 if you'd like to get in contact with someone to get that process started. I would think it would be well worth the small investment in order to make things more efficient on your end & completely cut the strings from 1SC.

Hope this helps!

Kyle

Thanks, Kyle! It does indeed help. It will be a pain to switch membership sites but I probably will do it in order to get better integration with Infusion.

I may also opt to have all my archived sales data from 1ShoppingCart moved to Infusion, time and money permitting.

Kyle,
Do you know of anyone who is using the aMember plug-in with infusion. I recently set it up but am having issues with it (particularly the 1hr cron job)and aMember's horrendous customer service.

Also, do you know of a way around using a cron to sync the information between the two programs? Or a way for aMember to take the information and then send it to infusion?

Thanks, jason

Hi Jason,

I'm sorry there isn't anybody that comes to mind who is using the AMember plug-in for Infusionsoft, and I'm not familiar with how that particular plug-in is built (sounds like it's only passing information one way).

I'm familiar with how a few other integrations are set up, so depending on what functionality you need you might be better off with one of those.

Is there a particular type of functionality you need that only AMember provides?

What other integrations are you familiar with?

I have a joomla site set up which is where aMember was going to fit in. But aMember is proving very problematic. I am very much open to ideas. (and scrapping the whole membersite and starting over isn't out of the question).

Thanks, jason

Our Membership software is integrated with Infusion. You can learn more about the integration and our software at: http://memberstar.com

You guys are mentioning a plug in that makes Infusion work with aMember but I can't find it on their website. Can someone direct me to the spot on aMember's web site that shows about this plug in? And does it only work it you are using the API?

Thanks
Cindy

I have the Infusionsoft plugin installed and configured for amember to integrate with Infusionsoft. The plugin is 4 php files. One of the files is to set the cron job so you can regulate the schedule.

I could use some suggestions on how to set up the actions and tags in Infusionsoft to update the subscriptions in amember.

You can email me directly at deborah@infusionsoftconsultants.com. I'd be happy to call you if that would be faster than typing.
Thank you.
