What Additions/Changes do you want to Web Forms? 1 Year, 1 Month ago Karma: 4
Hey everybody.

We are going to be making some changes to how web forms functions. Our goal is to make them easier to set up and manage and potentially add some new functionality.

We have a pretty good list of stuff compiled but I'd like to get your feedback.

What do you wish you could do with web forms? What things about web forms drive you nuts?

I'll get our list organized and throw it up here so you can pound on it and let us know what you really want. For now though, let's use this thread to brainstorm a little bit...

I'd like to see a button on the webform (perhaps where the "HTML Code" section is) that says: "Send This To My Webmaster". When you click it, it opens an email that already has all of the technical instructions that instruct my webmaster on how to get this form up on my website. Attached could be a text file with the webform HTML.

Hey Brad, First of all I would like to thank you for listening to my feedback via Twitter.

This is just a summary list of what I suggested via twitter(so you wont forget, and so others can see and contribute further to this 'Idea board')

I will list my 'Frustrations' below along with suggestions of improvement.

#1. (I know the topic was webforms.) The action sequences, my client has at least 800 of these, which create 16+ pages of 50 items each to look at, with no search feature, this is a painful experience, especially since you only see pages 1-8 and then have to hit 'next' to see the other 8 pages of pain lol. I think a search feature should be added and have the 'display' drop down go up to '1000' items at least.

#2. Order forms - When you associate these with a product, right now, the customer gets no receipt! This does not make much sense because if you did not want them to get a receipt you should be able to just turn that 'functionality' off. because in some cases order forms is the only option if you are using a second merchant account to sell items inside the same infusion account, you cant use Link Generator because they default to the merchant account that is set to 'default' in the system.

I would add to the order form the option to turn customer receipts on or off, life would be easier for me .

#3. An issue I noticed the other day in IE(I realize you suggest FireFox 3, but I can guarantee you that some people are still using IE, and they are most likely not going to change anytime soon lol).

In IE, when I wanted to 'edit' anything it used to pop up a new window, but yesterday it stopped working and gave me a JS error, I am assuming that you guys were working on the system though, This should probably be fixed to keep IE users from sending you 10000 emails however .

I think that is it for now, I will let you know if I see anything else Hopefully this will help the 'brainstorming' continue

Thanks for your time! and Thanks for Listening!

Andy,

First off, you're a cheater for sliding in your other ideas in the Web Form Thread, but I'll let is slide this once... .

1. Totally hear you on this one. I believe that we had a feature put through (or were going to put a feature through) to give the user an option to have action sets show up in the setup menu so they loaded in their own page with a search box on them. That would in essence solve the problem.

I am interested to know why you have so many action sets though.

2. Totally agree on this one as well. For our next release, we are potentially looking at adding both items you mentioned: 1) Sending receipts form Order Forms and 2) being able to specify a merchant account in the Link Generator.

I'd love to get your feedback on what you like/dislike between Order Forms and the Cart. We are doing some research into whether or not those two features should be separated.

3. I'm pretty sure our support team is all over it, but if it continues to be an issue, ping me and I'll figure out what is going on.

Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Brad

Two things:

() Up / down buttons to move the fields around
and
() Editable Displayname vs. fixed Actual Field name column

Give me those two things, an I never have to manually edit a web form ever, ever again.

Oh, and a "Preview now" button would be nice.. even if it just jammed my code into the forms tester, and I'd be golden.

I'd like to be able to use " (quote) in a web form label. Have been able to escape it (using &) to get around it. But sometimes customer service cites this work around as the reason I wind up on the "oops" page so much. I have forms where it's not an issue. I prefer to use this short hand when citing specific measurements.

ps i feel my original draft was clearer but upon preview I noticed the forum software translated my escapes making my post unclear

feelin' like a beta tester...

I'd like the ability to get an electronic signature from a client with infusion. I sell services which require signed disclosures and a Power of Attorney. Also, getting them to sign while making their purchase will greatly reduce charge backs. Simply stating my refund policy on my website carries no weight with my merchant, but if they sign they're locked in.

I would like to be able to set a default value for fields, especially the checkboxes. If I want an option checked by default, I currently cant do that.

Also, I would like to be able to set the size of a text area. Its default size is rediculously small.

The up and down sort arrows would be very useful.

Thanks

We would like to be able to customize the "other options" with our web forms when it pertains to checking the information before it goes into our database.

Right now, we either will overwrite information or have a ton of duplicate records in our system....

This seems like something that should be done-at least more options within the way the checking is done, but it would be SUPERB if we could actually customize those options ourselves for different forms.....
