We do give the ability to export contact/order/lead data in csv format (from any search or report).

Does this solve the need?

Please create a system that automatically backs up ALL of our data daily and that lets us retain on file historical full backups in quantity and duration that we select. I too have hundreds of hours of time creating sequences, tags, emails messages, products etc. that I could never re-create.

Your customers create data. Backing up data is a fundemental concept in the computer industry. Don't take this the wrong way (I don't mean what I say as a threat), but Infusionsoft is at great risk because of the inability to backup all customer data. I've been a business lawyer in Arizona for 28 years. I love InfusionSoft, but the powers that be at Infusionsoft need to understand that by not creating a routine backup system for ALL CUSTOMER DATA, Infusionsoft is risking losing a lawsuit and being hit for substantial damages.

What do you suppose would happen if a customer's data were to be lost by a server crash or something like that at Infusionsoft? There is a good chance that total loss of data could cause huge economic damage to a customer who would sue Infusionsoft for recover its economic loss. The plaintiff will have a parade of expert witnesses testifying that backing up data is fundamental and industry standard practice. Could Infusionsoft find a single credible expert witness to testify who would claim the opposite is true? Another nail in the coffin will occur when the jury hears that the software didn't even give the customer a manual method of backing up.

A lawsuit over a single customer's loss of data could be very costly to Infusionsoft, but what if 10 customers or 100 customers lost their data? Can you spell CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?

I'm not a litigator, but as a business lawyer whose objective is to keep my clients out of court, if Infusionsoft were my cient I would advise it in writing that it must protect the data of all of its customers or risk being sued and getting a big judgment against it for damages.

P.S. We also need to be able to export our inmportant data easily.

I see that this is an old thread, but I think it is still important.

I agree with the others that we should have a way to back up our data.

Infusion-you say that you are protecting sensitive data by not letting us do this ourselves...but it is MY data. So essentially you are protecting my data from me?

My customer's assume I have their credit card information...they gave it to me.

I will be honest, there have been a few times that I have considered switching to another service (usually after an "upgrade" breaks something). I have not dome so because I cannot take my data (ALL of my data) with me. If I switch to someone else I have no way of reentering my customer's subscriptions into a new system because I cannot access their credit card data.Is this why you don't let us have our own data?

I know that you feel you are doing backups, I know that you have good intentions, but even the best of intentions fail. I am a web designer and hosting company. I can't even tell you how often I have customers that call me and want to know how to back up their accounts "in case". I can't imagine telling them that they can have some of it, but not the rest. You telling us that we can have the contact records but nothing else is like me telling my customers that they can back up their email but not their web site. See how that makes no sense?

Please, please, please allow us to back up our data. It is by definition ours and we should have this ability.

Thank you.

Richard, thanks for the post. BTW, California has HUGE requirements for consumer data protection. InfusionSoft users in California may want to ask legal counsel about this issue too.

Cindy,

I hear you on all accounts. We do offer full data export, for a nominal fee, we will export anything and everything and burn it to a disc and overnight it to you. There are several security precautions that we would take, but people CAN export their data.

It's good that export of it is difficult so we don't have any customers with rogue employees stealing customer credit card numbers.

The suggestion has been posted to our Ideas page and it has been moving up in rank slowly. The more customers need there is, the more likely we will visit this as a business.
