I see that this is an old thread, but I think it is still important.
I agree with the others that we should have a way to back up our data.
Infusion-you say that you are protecting sensitive data by not letting us do this ourselves...but it is MY data. So essentially you are protecting my data from me?
My customer's assume I have their credit card information...they gave it to me.
I will be honest, there have been a few times that I have considered switching to another service (usually after an "upgrade" breaks something). I have not dome so because I cannot take my data (ALL of my data) with me. If I switch to someone else I have no way of reentering my customer's subscriptions into a new system because I cannot access their credit card data.Is this why you don't let us have our own data?
I know that you feel you are doing backups, I know that you have good intentions, but even the best of intentions fail. I am a web designer and hosting company. I can't even tell you how often I have customers that call me and want to know how to back up their accounts "in case". I can't imagine telling them that they can have some of it, but not the rest. You telling us that we can have the contact records but nothing else is like me telling my customers that they can back up their email but not their web site. See how that makes no sense?
Please, please, please allow us to back up our data. It is by definition ours and we should have this ability.
Thank you.
Cindy
