Even if I try to put these fields under a separate tab Lender A, Lender B, Lender C you can only assign the custom field to one of them?
Yes. A contact field can only be in one spot on a contact record. It's unique.
One solution: You might consider making use of "lead records" to execute what you want. You can have several lead records connected to each contact record. And each lead record can have 100 custom fields.
Have you thought about whether what you are planning to set up would be a lot of work to maintain, even if you could do it?
