To the best of my knowledge, there are still issues with the new editor, including:
- Conversion of embedded/inline style into span style tags. Unfortunately, this approach screws up a few email clients like gmail. And this increases the HTML code versus text ratio which impacts spam ratings.
- Stripping out of multiple "nbsp;" html which you may be using for spacing.
- Interface issues in IE that prevent font family and size from being applied to selected text.
- Stripping out of style commands, both style sheet and some in-line style. Many folks have seen this issue as reported above.
Those are the issues that I've seen so far... Watch out because some happen immediately upon editing while some happen only when you save a template.
Also - this is a bit like Schrödinger's cat. If you open an email template with the new editor and re-save it, the icky changes will happen. If you don't, things will stay as before and it will work on send (like from a campaign). Remember, sending a batch email opens the template in the editor, allowing it to "work its magic".
I have to make an editorial comment. I love Infusion and I think the whole team is to commended for the phenominal work over the last six months to improve product quality. And my experiences with the support team have been 99% fantastic. But...

I'm a bit frustrated that we've seen an abandonment of the old HTML editor due to bugs introduced in the last upgrade and the only work-around being to use the new editor which has many issues per above.
One or the other would be manageable. Together, it's a mess - there is no way to effectively manage the formatting of emails. I've been told that these issues are not considered "essential" as they only impacts the look and feel of email communication. I can't speak for others, but in our business, we consider how we present ourselves to customers in our communications absolutely critical. Both in terms of our image and practical things like conversion rates, etc...
