I've tried searching the forum for this. I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere. I want to send an email which contains a link that if clicked, automatically registers the contact for an upcoming Webinar and sends a thank you email.

Can someone point me to the information or give advice on this?

It sounds like you need a Trackable Link.

Trackable Links allow you to associate an Action Set with a link in an email. When somebody clicks it, the system knows who they are and applies the Action Set to their person record. You could have the Action Set simply Tag them, or put them in a Follow-up Sequence, or even create an Order. The possibilities are endless.

But in this case, you want to Tag them and shoot off an Email. The steps to accomplish this are:

1. Setup -> Templates
2. Edit or Add an Email Template
3. click Open Merge Window
4. click Create Link on the Misc tab
5. fill in the necessary information
6. click Save
7. unfortunately, that closed the popup so navigate back to the Misc tab and [Edit] the Link you just created
8. there is now an Actions tab, go there
9. add an Action that will add a Tag
10. add an Action that will send the Email
11. Save that
12. merge your Link into the Email
13. Save the template
14. Send it out!

As far as the registering for the webinar piece, Tyler shared some tips & things to watch for in this thread.
Integrating with GoToWebinar

The gist of it was:

Usually GoToMeeting sends a "register" link that looks something like this: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/848278519

If you change the "register" part of the link to "join", then the visitor only needs to click the link at the time of the webinar and sign in. Like this: https://www1.gotomeeting.com/join/848278519.

So, we never have visitors "register" with GoToWebinar, we just have them login to the webinar at the appointed time using the "join" link.

I noticed you said "create an order"

I had heard this was possible but don't see that in the action list. How would you do this?

Right now you need to utilize the API to create an order. You do so by using the "Send an HTTP post" action to hit your site, which then creates the order via the API.

We are working on an actual Action Set action that will create an order, but there is (sadly) no current ETA for its release.

As far as gotowebinar integration, we have a product where your thank you page will post the persons info to gotowebinar without them seeing gotowebinar. This can happen off of an order form or webform, whichever way you want to sign people up for webinars.

They will still get the gotowebinar email, but won't see the registration page or the gotowebinar thanks page. You can sign them up however you want and then display whatever you want on the thanks page.
