Search doesn't bring up all leads 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
I just got my infusionsoft setup and prepared my list for importing (about 92,000 optins).

After importing I thought I had added them to a category but figured out that categories really don't mean anything and it's the group that they need to be assigned to.

So I have a couple problems:

First: I have a bunch of optins that are mixed in with my affiliate list. I added optins to the mail list category and affiliates to the affiliate category.

So my question is how to I get them to the right place.

Second: When I do a basic search for all leads, the results show 5,758 total...where are the other 87,000 people???

Before I send my first email through this new system I need to be sure it's everyone.

Thanks for any help

Welcome to the Infusionsoft Community, Keith! I hope you'll enjoy and participate with the many great folks and resources available here.

Before I get into my answers below, I want to let you know that the Infusionsoft app will change significantly near the end of the month; so don't get *too* used to the procedures below.

I would consider creating additional Contact Groups that truly target your customers. That is, narrow down to their interests and their sources.

Also do the same thing with your affiliates -- segment them by performance, types of affiliate marketing or whatnot.

When regard to the Search issue that you mention, it is cumulative in nature. That is, it lets you continually fine-tune and narrow searches down. In this case, be sure to "Reset" the search if it is not functioning right. If you still observe a limited number of results than expected; Infusionsoft may still be processing your import and you can check on that through the Reporting/Scheduled Actions interface.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it works out. In any case, our support staff is available anytime to help you better understand and carry out the goals you need at first.

Joe,
Thank you for the response and yes I look forward to contributing to the forum as I learn infusion. We'll also likely do many different scripts using the API and I would be happy to share with the community.

On Segmentation:

Yes that is my plan

On my questions:

On the search not bringing up the whole list...

It's been about 7 hours since the import and it said success 7 hours ago.

It still only brings up a limited number when I do the search. This means that there are MANY missing people

Also, for some reason every ID is increase by 2 instead of 1. Meaning there is no ID 3, no ID 5 etc etc.

Odd.

I just need to know how to get them all pulled up.

I've figured out whats going on.

The import function lied

It said 100% were imported and successful, the truth is that only 5800 or so was successful.

The rest were simply not imported for what ever reason.

I can see that by looking at the previous imports and seeing the number successfully added for most of the lists I imported being zero.

Not good.

Ok, figured it out

The limited number of results came from importing without a last name which seems ridiculous to me.

Forced to include a last name but not an IP address???

Either way, I figured it out and all is well
