Do you run a membership site? If you do then as you know you process C (continuous) type payments.
N.B. this post is also relevant if you want to do 1 click up/down-selling because the second payment is passed as a C type.
I am working with Joey from Infusionsoft to try to build a definitive list of cards, gateways, merchant banks and countries that are happy to process type C payments through Infusionsoft.
Do you want to play along?
Explain your setup and your experience e.g. my setup is: Country = UK Gateway = SagePay (Protx) Aquiring bank = LloydsTSB Successful cards being processed as type C = Only Visa and MasterCard credit cards Main countries of interest = USA, Ireland, France, New Zeland, Australia, Japan
Although I can take E or M type payments using Maestro, Switch, Solo, Visa Electron and Delta it seems I can only process C type payments through Visa and MasterCard credit cards.
What has been your experience. Please share. I have really struggled not with Protx (SagePay) but with LloydsTSB. Protx tell me that the UK banks are getting more strict and they have been cancelling cards 'just for fun', which of course has caused us a complete nightmare in support calls.
Does anyone use HSBC in the UK? Are they easy to work with? Are they more flexible with C type payments or is it down to the banking laws rather than the merchant bank? I am thinking of moving from Lloyds to HSBC however if they are not going to be any easier because the fault does not lie with them then I'd rather not go through the disruption.
The goal of this post is to build a list of companies and experiences so that we can all successfully grow within this community; earning a residual income but without the headaches. Please pledge your support by contributing your findings.
If you are overseas it would be helpful to find out more because I have also struggled to take overseas cards through LloydsTSB. Have you struggled to take UK card payments for example?
Thank you and best wishes
