What is your favorite Web browser for being productive and reliable for your small business?

Personally, I'm a huge Mozilla Firefox fan, but I have respect for Camino project, too.

Maybe you enjoy classics like Internet Explorer 6 or 7, or Safari on the Mac.

Joe,

I was a IE 7 user and liked it a lot, recently our company switched over to Google Aps and i got to know the FF has lots of add-ons that enhance Gmail to the utmost so I switched.

Now I'm hooked, great browser with great add-ons for every surfer.

I will tell you that my opinion has changed.

Being a computer repair professional, my past life..., I love IE 6 and 7 because it was built in and worked well for most consumers. I did not use Firefox becasue during the hey day of sypware and viruses we heard of and fixed a lot of computers that users had been told that by switching to Firefox that all the spyware would go away. Simply not true!

Working for Infusionsoft I have seen the speed and benefit of using Firefox and use it on all my machines, and they are free of sypware and viruses too...

Great perspectives from everyone. I might as well opine on the subject, too.

Internet Explorer was always a pain for me, not that it was difficult, but it often led to frequent computer hassles, frequent family tech support phone calls and ultimately was the perfect gateway to contract Malware and Spyware on computers.

Before Spyware and Malware hit their prime-time, I did respect IE for its ease of use and functionality. However, even today with all the latest patches and updates, IE is still a security risk on people's machines.

I discovered Firefox and have used it since 0.9 (Mid 2004), and haven't switched back. It's speed and reliability -- as well as security -- has made it a top choice for me. Does that mean it's perfect, no, not by a long shot, but it makes Web browsing much better than it was for IE in the peak of Malware. I stick to the browser because it's open-source and leverages the input from thousands of developers world wide, making it nearly the most secure and efficient Web browser today.

Firefox does have it's drawbacks, too. For instance, third-party plugin support (Flash, RealPlayer and Windows Media) are often a challenge for the browser to offer native support for users. However, with each release and numerous addons are made available; the browser is becoming just a little more sweeter to use.

I've used Opera, Avant and other Web browsers; but I find that Firefox balances speed, usability and reliability best in my experience. Perhaps, Internet Explorer 8 will be better, but we have to cross our fingers before we cross that bridge.

Personally I used IE for years and it worked and did its job. Thats all it did. When I started to get heavy into computers it was a god send to find out about FF. FF Opened so many new doors and possibilities through its add-ons. Do you want to disable cookies, look at a webforms feilds without going into the source, veiw table code, then all you need are the web developer tools for FF. Viewing Gallries of images without a slideshow option used to be a pain. Piclens now allows a bored with tons of images.

On top of all the great plug in's I think and have seen that I'm better protected with FF from spy-ware and mal-ware.

I first switched to Firefox when it introduced Tabbed Browsing (which IE now has, also). I use that feature ALL THE TIME and can't imagine Surfing without it.

Later, I got introduced to Firebug and there was no going back... It is simply the Best Plugin Ever.

And now Firefox 3.0 loads pages much faster than IE (or Firefox 2.0) can. It is simply a fantastic browser.

---

An interesting side note:

The Infusionsoft app is developed in Firefox (also tested in IE, but specifically developed for Firefox). So if you are looking for the Best Infusionsoft Experience, Firefox is probably the way to go.

I use both Firefox and IE. My main browser is Firefox. Some sites are IE only so then I switch to IE in those instances.

Actual FireFox has a plug in called IE Tabs that will allow you to open a site through Firefox that emulates an internet explorer window. Its nifty!

I'm just a classic fan of Internet Explorer. I've tried the other ones but have always just enjoyed IE. However, I have started trying out Google Chrome. It seems to be a little faster, but I'm still with IE.
